The Pareu (or Pareo) Day has been celebrated everywhere in the world since it was launched in 2013 by a little group of Polynesian enthusiasts with the support of social networks. The time slot selected for staging it will be the last Friday in May, a monthly festive meeting in the capital city of Papeete in Tahiti based on a special theme and offered to both the population and visitors, all of whom dressed in typical local clothing and providing various shows and activities.
